1.         Description of Contest/Participation.

  A.         Date of Contest:  The Contest will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.  PURCHASE DOES NOT INCREASE ODDS OF WINNING. Void where prohibited.  Odds of winning depend upon the number of entrants and the fulfillment of certain obligations by the entrant, as further described herein.

        B.         How to enter:

Persons 18 years or older and unmarried, and who meet all other eligibility requirements, must complete the following submission steps to be officially entered in the contest:

                                a) Registration will open at 5:00 p.m. at the Registration Table under the Main Tent in the parking lot next to European Bridal.  The official contest does not begin until 6:00 p.m.

                                b) Upon arrival, the Entrant must go to the Giveaway Registration Table located at the Main Tent.   There, the Entrant will obtain a “Ticket”, which will be a light cardboard stock paper the size of a half page of regular 8 x 11 copy paper.  The Ticket will have a map of the Reading Bridal District on the

front, with the names and locations in the District of each RBD Giveaway merchant on it.   On the reverse of the Ticket, there will be an area where the Entrant will have to write in her name, address, telephone number, email address, and wedding date.  Entrants must have and present at Registration an active social security number, and be able to present the original social security card AND valid government-issued photo ID bearing a birth date to contest officials BEFORE the Entrant is permitted to participate.  Social security numbers and birthdate information will NOT be recorded in any fashion by the Reading Bridal District and/or the Reading Chamber of Commerce, with the exception of the winner of the Contest.  (The winner’s social security card and photo ID bearing birthdate will be photocopied so that the appropriate tax documentation can be issued to the winner and to the Internal Revenue Service.)  Only one chance (Ticket) per Entrant is permitted, and Entrants may not participate for someone else.  A bride and a groom may register separately as Entrants, thus increasing their chances, as a couple, of winning the Giveaway.  The Entrant must also sign a “sign in” sheet and a liability waiver. The Entrant will then be given a “trick or treat” goodie bag.

                            c) The Entrant must then go “trick or treating” at each of the merchants’ shops or booths in the District, have each merchant “validate” the Ticket with a special marking (the merchants will each have the special marking), evidencing the Entrant’s “trick or treat” visit to each merchant.  Once the Entrant has gotten each of the merchants to validate the Ticket, the Entrant should return the completed Ticket to the volunteers at the Giveaway Registration Tent, who will examine the Ticket and drop it in the drawing box for a chance to win the Giveaway.  The Ticket must be completely validated and placed in the box by 8:30 p.m. in order for the Entrant to have a chance to win the Giveaway.

                            d) At 8:30 p.m., the Giveaway Registration will close.  At 8:45 p.m. at the staging area in the parking lot next to European Bridal near the Main Tent, a special guest of the RBD will randomly draw the winning Ticket from the box of completed Tickets.  She will then announce the Winner’s name and ask her to come to the staging area.  The winner must be present at that time in order to claim the Giveaway Prize.  When the Winner is announced, the RBD will provide her with a book/folder which will contain the Gift Certificates totaling $10,000 towards the cost of various wedding goods and services.  Please see below for a complete description of the Prize.

                         e) By providing the entry elements described above, and officially entering this contest, the Entrants agree to: allow the Reading Bridal District, the Reading Chamber of Commerce, the City of Reading, and other contributors to the contest to broadcast on-air and on-line all information provided for the purposes of promoting the contest, and accept and acknowledge the rules, regulations, restrictions and prize description “as is.” THE READING BRIDAL DISTRICT, THE READING CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, THE CITY OF READING, AND OTHER CONTRIBUTORS TO THE CONTEST EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
